2008 Press Releases

U.S. Non-Immigrant Visa Fees Reduced to Kshs.8,500

Nairobi, April 24, 2008

On May 1, 2008, the fee in Kenyan Shillings to apply for any non-immigrant visas will decrease from Kshs.10,000 to Kshs.8,500.   There has been no adjustment to the worldwide non-immigrant visa fee of USD131 which was made effective on January 1, 2008.  However, the decrease in the price in Kenyan Shillings reflects recent shifts in the exchange rate between the U.S. Dollar and the Kenyan Shilling.

There will be no adjustment or refund for any application fees of Kshs.10,000  paid prior to May 1, 2008 (even if the date of the visa interview is after May 1st).

Non-immigrant visas are for temporary visitors to enter the United States for tourist, business, and study purposes.  Procedures for payment of visa fees in Kenya will not change: all applicants for non-immigrant visas to visit the United States, regardless of nationality, should pay the fee for each individual visa application at the Commercial Bank of Africa.
