The U.S. Embassy and the United Nations Commemorate the 60th Anniversary of UN Peacekeeping Operations

On Thursday, May 29, the U.S. Embassy will support the United Nations’ efforts to honor Kenya’s role in peacekeeping missions. Ambassador Michael E. Ranneberger, the Vice Chief of General Staff of the Kenya Army Lt. General Julius Waweru Karangi, members of Kenya’s Armed Forces, the diplomatic community, senior UN officials and staff will honor fallen peacekeepers.
Media are invited to attend the program which will begin at 11:00am, UN Headquarters, Gigiri. Activities will include a wreath-laying ceremony in honor of civilians, police and military killed in line of duty.
