BOMBING IN NAIROBI

June 12, 2007

At approximately 8:15 a.m. on Monday, June 11, a device exploded near a public bus stop located outside CityGate restaurant on Moi Avenue in downtown Nairobi. Kenyan authorities indicate one person died and 34 individuals were injured. No Americans appear to be among the casualties of the blast. Kenyan authorities are still investigating details about the nature of the explosion, the perpetrator, and the motive. No one has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
