Non-Immigrant Visas

Medical Visas

The following information is required to apply for a Non-immigrant Visa for medical treatment in the United States.

From Doctor in Kenya

  1. Original letter from the attending physician in Kenya explaining the condition and ongoing treatment of the patient.
  2. Original letter explaining why the patient can't be treated in Kenya and why he /she needs to go to the U.S. for treatment.

From Hospital in United States

  1. Original letter explaining the doctor's knowledge of the patient's condition.
  2. Original letter explaining what the treatment will include and an estimate of costs (minimum/maximum) and the length of recuperation or duration of stay.
  3. Original letter with a specific appointment date or willingness to see the patient at earliest opportunity.

From Sponsor

  1. Original Affidavit of Support and/or original bank statements for the last six months.
  2. Original personal letter indicating where the patient will physically reside while undergoing treatment and follow-up checkups as well as explaining the reasons for sponsoring.
  3. Proof of sponsor's legal status in the United States.

Presentation of any or all of the above documents does not guarantee issuance of a visa. Applicants are still subject to section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Submission of fraudulent documents could render the applicant permanently ineligible for a visa.
