Do you need to renew an Adult’s OR Minor’s passport?

Adult Passport Renewal

  • Complete Form DS-82. Enter your information online and print Form DS-82 OR print out the blank form and then complete using black ink on one-sided pages.  Failure to provide information requested on this form, including your social security number, may result in significant processing delays and/or the denial of your application.   The form can also be obtained from American Citizen Services at the U.S. embassy.
  • Sign and date Form DS-82 on page 1
  • Bring one (1) identical photo 2x2 inches
  • The fee is $110 payable in dollars or the equivalent in Kenyan Shillings, USD or international credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Dinners, American Express, and Discover).
  • To submit the application schedule an appointment. 
  • Allow Approximately 10 working days for processing. Passports must be collected at the ACS section by the applicant or authorized representative. An appointment is not necessary to pick up your passport.

Minor’s Passport Renewal (Under Age 16)

  • Complete Form DS-11.   Enter your information online and print Form DS-11 OR print out the blank form and then complete using black ink on one-sided pages.  Failure to provide information requested on this form, including your social security number, may result in significant processing delays and/or the denial of your application.   The form can also be obtained from American Citizen Services at the U.S. embassy.
  • Do not sign Form DS-11 on page 1
  • Both parents must be present with the child with their passports
  • Bring one (1) identical photo 2x2 inches
  • The fee is $105 payable in dollars or the equivalent in Kenyan Shillings, USD or international credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Dinners, American Express, and Discover).
  • If the child's physical appearance has changed significantly since the last passport photograph, the Consular officer will request transitional photos as proof of identification.

If parent (s) in the U.S.A.:

  • Give notarized copy of statement of consent (DS-3053) from each parent and certified copy of U.S. passport.  If parent is not an American Citizen, a certified copy of driver’s license/passport.
  • Birth Certificate of the child/children.
  • If one parent not available we need documentation such as court order, death certificate or any other proof showing sole custody of the child/children.
  • A notarized power of attorney authorizing the guardian to execute DS-11 on behalf of the parents.
  • To submit the application schedule an appointment.
  • Allow Approximately 10 working days for processing. Passports must be collected at the ACS section by the applicant or authorized representative. An appointment is not necessary to pick up your passport.
