Youth Encouraged to Join Fight against HIV/AIDS
Nairobi, Kenya – Today, the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief in Kenya launched a World AIDS Day Poster Contest that solicits artwork from youth reflecting the theme “Working Together for an AIDS-Free Generation.” The United States is proud to be supporting the people of Kenya as they take a leadership role in their fight against HIV/AIDS. Working together, with science guiding our efforts, we can build on our successes to save even more lives.
The Poster Contest is open to youth and will be divided into three age groups:
The top entries from each country will be highlighted through poster shows, press releases, website features, exhibits and other venues. These artists will receive a certificate signed by U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, Ambassador Eric Goosby. Additionally, top entries from each country will be judged as part of a global contest. Of those entries, the top global entry in each category (Age Groups 1 – 3) will receive a backpack of art supplies.
