EducationUSA assists international students with finding, applying, and preparing for study at an accredited U.S. college or university. The American Educational Advising Center (AEAC)in Nairobi is the U.S. Embassy’s affiliated advising center in Kenya. Each year approximately three million students from all over the world, 5,000 of whom come from Kenya, contact educational information centers affiliated with the U.S. Department of State. These centers provide professional, timely, accurate, comprehensive, and unbiased advice on study and scholarship opportunities in the U.S.
The American Educational Advising Center offers the following services:
Free Information Sessions
Sessions are held every first and third Fridays at Maksons Plaza located on Parklands Road in Westlands and every second and fourth Fridays at the U.S. Embassy in Gigiri.
Advising
The AEAC offers individual and group advising for students interested in study in the U.S.
Membership
Membership applications are available to students who are interested in having access to a full range of services over the course of a year. Students will be assisted in finding and applying for an appropriate college or university, researching financial aid/scholarships, taking required exams, and understanding what lie will be like in a new environment and culture. Members have access to AEAC services Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Students must meet basic admissions requirements of institutes of higher learning to qualify for membership. The application will be reviewed, and the student ill be informed of the decision within one week. The monthly membership fee is 16,000/=.

Directions to the AEAC
By car:
From town, take Parklands Road past the Holiday Inn, which will be on your right. Continue past the Mpaka Road Junction (on your left). After passing the junction, look to the right for a large blue-gray building with the name Maksons Plaza. The Center is located on the 2nd floor.
By bus:
Take no. 118 from Khoja Mosque to Westlands. Alight at Unga House. On the opposite side of the road is a large blue-gray building with the name Maksons Plaza. The Center is located on the 2nd floor.
