This Warden Message alerts U.S. citizens to minor disruptions in the Globe Cinema Roundabout and surrounding area. The disruption has expanded eastward and northward, and has grown in intensity. Reports indicate that rioters have burned two electrical transformers and a police truck, and there is a heavy police presence in the area. The following locales should be avoided:
Ngara Road
Murang’a Road
Kipande Road
Kijabe Road
Globe Cinema Roundabout
Ngara open markets
This list may not be complete as the situation remains fluid. We remind American citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and possible escalate into violence. American citizens are therefore urged to avoid the areas of demonstrations if possible, and to exercise caution if within the vicinity of any demonstrations. American citizens should stay current with media coverage of local events and be aware of their surroundings at all times.
