WARDEN MESSAGE
U.S. Embassy Nairobi wishes to alert the U.S. resident community in Kenya to reports of sporadic violence between the Samburu-Turkana-Rendille tribes, and the Meru tribe in Isiolo. This latest round of violence may be attributed to continued intertribal cattle raids. The U.S. Embassy recommends that all U.S. citizens living or traveling in the area take stock of their personal security posture and ensure that appropriate precautions are being taken to remain safe.
U.S. citizens who travel to or reside in Kenya are encouraged to register through the State Department’s travel registration website. By registering, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency. U.S. citizens without Internet access may register directly with the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi.
